PROJECT 2023年8月31日（木） Award of “The Project for Formulation of Comprehensive Regional Development Plan for Greater Lusaka”
TEC International Co., Ltd. (TECI) with RECS International Inc. (the leader of Joint Venture), Eight-Japan Engineering Consultants Inc. and Asia Air Survey Co., Ltd. was awarded a contract in August 2023 by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for “The Project for Formulation of Comprehensive Regional Development Plan for Greater City of Lusaka (Zambia)” following an individual contract on “Water Supply and Wastewater/Urban Sanitation Specialist” for its detailed planning survey.
The project aims to contribute to sustainable growth and improvement of the living condition in Greater City of Lusaka through the establishment of a comprehensive development plan.
The “Greater Lusaka,” consisting of country’s capital Lusaka City and its surrounding municipalities, is rapidly expanding due to the influx of population resulting from economic growth, in which major infrastructures, economic activities, and residential areas have been developed extending beyond the municipal boundaries. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate a comprehensive development plan that covers the whole area in addition to the one for each municipality.
Additionally, districts with poor living environments, known as “compounds”, in Greater City of Lusaka, are exposed to frequent flooding and overflows during the rainy season As a result, infectious diseases such as cholera are widespread due to the inflow of sewage into the groundwater. Therefore, improving the living environment is an essential issue for the area. TECI will contribute to the development of Greater Lusaka, especially in the fields of “Water Supply Specialist”, “Sewerage Specialist”, and “Drainage Specialist” through utilizing accumulated knowledge and experience in the company.
